Monograph on the occasion of the exhibition 'Piet van der Hem' (1885-1961, The Netherlands) by Stichting Kunst aan de Dijk. The exhibition is mainly composed with paintings owned by private collections. We emphasized this in the catalogue by photographing the works in its 'original' surroundings. Within the setting of the exhibition the paintings interact with the images of their regular, daily environment shown in the catalogue. Partly revealing the identity of the collectors by giving an insight in their homes, places Piet van der Hem and the exhibition in a specific context.
