Surfing Views – A Couchsurfing Directory
Publication + posterserie, 2010

Since 2003, 1.187.696 (June 2009) people have signed up for couchsurfing.org offering free accommodation to strangers. Stefanie Grätz surfed couches through Europe and photographed the views from her hosts' sofas, mattresses and floors. These views from the couches are accompanied by images from the couches itself offered (and taken) by the members of the website. It forms a directory of available couches. The pages are perforated to make the suggestion you could tear out your choice of stay.
The publication is a companion to the exhibition 'Surfing Views / 7 cities, 13 couches, 15 nights' for Bouw in Beeldprijs 2009 at Cobra Museum, Amstelveen.
Stefanie Grätz is nominated for the Dutch Doc Award with this project.
